Véronique Bachère was born in Albi, France. Her studies in biology then art at the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse lead her to naturalist drawing and watercolour. It all starts in the field with an unposed sketch and a spyglass observation for wild animals. Her watercolour drawings brought back in field notebooks, from the four corners of the world, Véronique then works in her studio, facing the Pyrenees mountains, in the middle of nature to draw poetic illustrations: plumage of a bird, lightness of a butterfly, fragility of grass... Finalist of the "Prix Vulcania du Carnet de Voyage" (Vulcania Prize for travel diary) in 2011 for her notebook made in Chile.
