Jules & Jane
Jules & Jane was born from a deep desire to work on history, the family story, our relationship to memory. After training in Fine Arts and working as a photographer, Laure needed to mix her passion for photography with more manual work on the material. Embroidery, due to its old-fashioned aspect, quickly became essential for this work on old, forgotten photos. Each point becomes a link with the past, an awakening of an ancient world, amplified by the meditative side of this activity. She likes to snoop around to find forgotten photos of strangers and bring them out of the shadows by adorning them with colourful flowers. It is always with emotion and gratitude that she embroiders them, dreaming of 1000 lives, 1000 little stories for the heroes of these photos.
